Simon, the founder of Blue Marlin Dive, is a highly accomplished diving instructor with over 32 years of experience in the industry. Under his leadership, Blue Marlin Dive has grown into one of Indonesia’s largest dive operators, with locations across the Gili Islands, Lombok, and Komodo. As a TDI Trimix Instructor Trainer, IANTD Advanced Trimix Instructor, and PADI Course Director, Simon is renowned for his technical diving expertise, particularly in Closed Circuit Rebreathers (CCR).

With over 10,000 dives, including more than 300 dives beyond 100 meters, Simon has a passion for exploration that led him to discover iconic dive sites in the Gili Islands, such as the Japanese WWII Wreck and Simon’s Reef. He has received several accolades, including PADI’s “Outstanding Contribution to the Dive Industry” award.

In addition to his achievements, Simon set the record for the deepest solo trimix CCR dive at 150 meters during those pioneering years. Today, he shares his wealth of knowledge by teaching technical diving courses in Gili Trawangan, the UK, and Gozo, continuing to inspire the next generation of divers.

Chris, a Marine Biologist from the UK, manages Blue Marlin Dive Tech with a passion for technical diving that blends curiosity, adventure, and leadership. Known for his patient and calm demeanor, he creates a supportive environment for both beginner and advanced divers, encouraging them to push their limits.

With a love for underwater photography and deep-sea exploration, Chris brings energy and enthusiasm to every dive. As an Advanced Trimix diver, he specializes in TDI open circuit and JJ-CCR rebreather courses, guiding divers through their first steps in rebreather diving and leading deep dives down to 100 meters around the Gili Islands.

Will’s journey into technical diving began with his fascination for shipwrecks along the south coast of Cornwall, UK. His early interest grew into a career that has spanned nearly two decades, taking him from recreational diving into advanced technical diving and instruction.

With thousands of logged dives under his belt, Will has become an integral part of the team at Blue Marlin Dive Tech. He specializes in CCR training, particularly the JJ-CCR, and advanced open-circuit diving. His calm, methodical approach to teaching helps students build confidence as they progress through challenging technical courses.

As a TDI Instructor Trainer, Will is committed to sharing his deep knowledge and experience with the next generation of technical divers, guiding them safely through the complexities of deep diving in the waters around the Gili Islands.

MC, a multitalented instructor from China, works as a dive instructor with Blue Marlin Dive since 2021. With a passion for nurturing divers from beginners all the way to technical diving.

As an experienced designer and engineer he is tutor of a Design Academy in China, also works as an underwater photographer, he is passionate with all the new techs and gadgets about diving and deep dives, willing to share his knowledge and experience for all levels diver.

He could teach in multi languages including English, Chinese Mandarin, Cantonese. As a TDI Advance Trimix Diver and TDI instructor, he runs TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures course and leading deep dives down to 100 meters around the Gili Islands.
